About the Transition Program:
Children in the transition program receive 1:1 instruction and have an individual program plan. Throughout their day children will work towards communication, social, play and academic goals that are appropriate for their development. The Transition Program will maintain a multi-sensory approach to learning, where each child will engage in experiences to help them develop and master skills that go beyond the classroom and generalize into the social world. We use an eclectic form of intervention and draw upon principles used in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Verbal Behaviour and the DIR/Floortime Model. Our goal is to have children interacting with their environment rather than simply experiencing the world from a desk. Children will receive a complete education to encompass their social, emotional, physical and academic needs. Included in our curriculum are specialized instruction times where children participate in art and music therapy as well as speech and occupational therapy consultations.
Children enrolled in the Transition program will have regular use of our mini-gym, outdoor play areas, 1:1 and group classrooms as well as our NEW sensory gym!
